Ingredients for Chicken Parmesan

Chicken Breasts: 2, boneless and skinless

Marinara Sauce: 1/2 cup (homemade or store-bought)

Parmesan Cheese: 1/4 cup, freshly grated

Mozzarella Cheese: 1/4 cup, shredded

Olive Oil: 1 tablespoon

Salt and Pepper: To taste

Fresh Basil: For garnish (optional)

Pasta: Cooked, for serving (optional)

Instructions:

Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to get it ready for baking the chicken.

Prepare the Chicken:

Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Once the oil is hot, add the chicken breasts to the skillet. Cook for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).

Add the Toppings:

Transfer the cooked chicken breasts to a baking dish.

Spoon marinara sauce evenly over each chicken breast.

Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the marinara sauce, followed by the shredded mozzarella cheese.

Bake the Chicken:

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

If you prefer a slightly crispy top, you can turn on the broiler for the last 2-3 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.

Serve:

Once baked, remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for a minute.

Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired.
